Khoi Nguyen


Khoi Nguyen is the Chief Technical Officer of the WEMS initiative and the engineer who programmed the Wildlife Enforcement Monitoring System while working with the United Nations University. With his mathematical modelling skills combined with software engineering acumen, Khoi is considered as one of the key player behind the success of the WEMS initiative. Khoi has been with the WEMS initiative as a full time engineer since its start, supporting the needs of African and Asian countries. He played a critical role in restructuring the system to meet the needs of the African governments. Khoi worked with computer scientists such as Prof. Paddy Krishnan (Oracle Labs) and Dr. Ng Chong (UNU) to build a robust ICT framework for WEMS. He works closely with Dr. Remi Chandran while integrating the information policy process into WEMS.

Khoi holds a master degree in Computer Science from Francophone Institute for Computer Science. He has rich experience in both research and development from mobile application to big data. His current work concerns with the maintenance and enhancement of Wildlife Enforcement Monitoring Systems and in the integration of the Asian and African systems for transcontinental information sharing between Asian and African countries.

Khoi speaks fluent English, French and Vietnamese.
